Netherlands-Based West Nile Boxer Farouk Daku Malingumu Donates Boxing Kits to Arua City Boxing Club
West Nile-born professional boxer and humanitarian Farouk Daku Malingumu through the MALINGUMU PROMOTIONS UGANDA has donated Boxing kits to Arua City Boxing Club worth thousands of US dollars. This happened barely five months after he donated similar kits to the same boxing club at West Nile Golf Course grounds, in Arua. The donations include boxing gloves, tracksuits, trophies, bandages, and chest guards.
It should be known that Farouk Daku Malingumu is a talented professional boxer born in Arua City – West Nile and is currently based in the Netherlands. Having started his boxing career in 1997 at SCOULS before turning professional in 2005, Farouk has several belts in his collections.
He has won the WBF Florida, USA World title, WBU intercontinental (Germany version), ABU African Champion among others including a win over Tanzanian boxer Siad Mbelwa at the World Boxing Union in Nairobi and another win against the Tanzanian sensational Oswald Maneno who previously beat the respected Godfrey Nyakana becoming third time East and central African champion.
According to Malingumu, winning all these belts didn’t come easy as he had to balance his personal life with the sport. But above all Allah, hard work, and dedication made the route to his successful career.
His success serves as an inspiration to many aspiring boxers in Uganda and across the continent. With his success comes pride for the region.
