ARUA CITY – Police in Arua Central Business Division have arrested three prominent socialites in Arua City on charges of offensive communication.
The suspects, currently detained at Arua CPS, have been identified as Irishad Abdul Aziz, popularly known as LP Shady (an artiste), Musa Ofoyrwoth, alias Badman Carlos (a TikToker), and Robert Atiku, commonly known as Jerry Manizo (a radio presenter).
While addressing journalists on Friday, Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the arrests and provided details of the case.
She explained that the matter began on November 19, 2025, when LP Shady featured in a widely circulated video interview in which he made derogatory remarks about women, particularly those from Arua.
“In the video, he described Arua women in a demeaning manner, claiming that if one part of a woman is beautiful, another part is unattractive. He said if the face is good, other parts are bad, and vice versa. These remarks were highly offensive,” Angucia said.

The issue escalated during the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Digital Gender-Based Violence when Emmanuel Angudubo, the Assistant Deputy Town Clerk of Arua City, publicly called out LP Shady over the video.
Angucia said Angudubo condemned the remarks as abusive, a violation of women’s rights, and a form of digital gender-based violence. He urged LP Shady to apologize and refrain from such statements in the future.
However, instead of heeding the advice, the three suspects launched personal attacks against Angudubo.
“On November 24, they insulted the Assistant Deputy Town Clerk, calling him a ‘mere poor civil servant’ with no authority to caution them, among other offensive remarks,” Angucia stated.
She added that on November 27, LP Shady went further by posting personal and defamatory attacks against Angudubo on social media.
Following these incidents, Angudubo reported the matter to Arua Central Business Division Police Station. Police launched investigations under CRB 875/2025, leading to the arrest of the three suspects on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Their statements have been recorded and the suspects have remained in custody.
Angucia confirmed that once investigations are complete, the file will be forwarded to the Resident State Attorney for legal guidance. Upon sanction, the suspects will be charged in court on charges of offensive communication contrary to Section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act, 2011.
Separately, Angudubo, through his lawyers of M/S Waymo Advocates, has served the three suspects with notices of intention to sue for defamation. He is seeking UGX 105 million in damages and demanding a public retraction of the defamatory statements made on November 24 and 27, 2025.
Police have urged social media influencers to be responsible in their online conduct.
