ARUA CITY – The Grade One Magistrate’s Court in Arua has granted bail to Arua-based artiste Irishad Abdul Aziz, popularly known as LP Shady, after he spent nearly two weeks in detention on charges of cyber harassment.
LP Shady was initially remanded to Arua Government Prison on December 8, 2025, by Grade One Magistrate Her Worship Christine Imalingat.
He appeared in court again today, Monday, December 15, 2025, where he pleaded not guilty. The court granted him cash bail of Shs1 million.
His two sureties were each bound on a non-cash bond of Shs10 million and directed to ensure his appearance in court on January 8, 2026.
The magistrate warned LP Shady against making further reckless statements about the complainant while on bail, noting that the case remains active.
LP Shady was arrested on December 4, 2025, alongside TikToker Musa Ofoyrwoth (alias Badman Carlos) and radio presenter Robert Atiku (alias Jerry Manizo) on related charges.
Charges against Jerry Manizo and Badman Carlos were later dropped, leading to their release before court appearance.
Background to the Case
The case stems from a widely circulated video interview on November 19, 2025, in which LP Shady made derogatory remarks about women from Arua.
In the video, he described Arua women in a demeaning way, claiming that if one part of a woman’s body is beautiful, another is unattractive; for example, if the face is attractive, other parts are not, and vice versa. These comments were deemed highly offensive.
The issue escalated during the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Digital Gender-Based Violence, when Emmanuel Angudubo, Assistant Deputy Town Clerk of Arua City, publicly condemned the remarks as abusive and a violation of women’s rights.
Rather than apologizing, the suspects allegedly responded with personal attacks on Angudubo. On November 24, they reportedly insulted him, calling him a “mere poor civil servant” with no authority to criticize them.
On November 27, LP Shady allegedly posted additional personal and defamatory attacks against Angudubo on social media.
Angudubo reported the matter to Arua Central Police Station under reference CRB 875/2025. Police investigated, took statements from the suspects, and arrested the trio on December 4, 2025.
