Irishad Abdul Aziz aka LP Shady who has been remanded to prison
ARUA CITY – Popular Arua-based artiste Irishad Abdul Aziz, better known as LP Shady, has been remanded to Arua Government Prison on charges of cyber harassment.
On Monday, December 8, 2025, Arua Grade One Magistrate Her Worship Christine Imalingat remanded LP Shady until Monday, December 15, 2025, after he pleaded not guilty to the offence.
LP Shady was arrested last week alongside TikToker Musa Ofoyrwoth (alias Badman Carlos) and radio presenter Robert Atiku (alias Jerry Manizo). The trio was initially charged with offensive communication, a charge that was later amended.
Last Friday, the charge against Jerry Manizo was dropped and he was later acquitted. The amended charge of cyber harassment was then preferred against LP Shady and Badman Carlos based on available evidence.
While LP Shady was produced in court on Monday, Badman Carlos remained in custody at Arua Central Police Station (CPS) for further investigations and was not brought before the magistrate.
Background to the Case
Earlier, the West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, Josephine Angucia said the arrests originated from a widely circulated video interview on November 19, 2025, in which LP Shady made derogatory remarks about women from Arua.
“In the video, he described Arua women in a demeaning manner, claiming that if one part of a woman is beautiful, another part is unattractive, saying if the face is good, other parts are bad, and vice versa. These remarks were highly offensive,” Angucia explained.
The matter gained public attention during the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Digital Gender-Based Violence, when Emmanuel Angudubo, Assistant Deputy Town Clerk of Arua City, publicly condemned the remarks as abusive and a violation of women’s rights.
Instead of apologizing, the suspects allegedly launched personal attacks on Angudubo. On November 24, they reportedly insulted him, calling him a “mere poor civil servant” with no authority to caution them.
Three days later, on November 27, LP Shady allegedly posted further personal and defamatory attacks against Angudubo on social media.
Angudubo subsequently reported the matter to Arua Central Police Station under CRB 875/2025. Police launched investigations, recorded statements from the suspects, and arrested the trio on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Angucia confirmed that once investigations are concluded, the file will be forwarded to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice and later the file was sanctioned.
Civil Suit
Separately, Emmanuel Angudubo, through his lawyers M/S Waymo Advocates, has served the three suspects with notices of intention to sue for defamation. He is seeking UGX 105 million in damages and a public retraction of the statements made on November 24 and 27, 2025.
