TEREGO – The Bishop of Madi and West Nile Diocese, Rt. Rev. Charles Collins Andaku, has advised the newly elected Terego West County Member of Parliament (MP), Eric Sabiti Dramviku, to serve as an MP for everybody without favoritism.

Bishop Andaku urged Dramviku not to harbor resentment toward those who did not vote for him. Instead, he should bless and pray for them to attract greater blessings from God.

The Bishop delivered these remarks during a thanksgiving ceremony organized by Dramviku at Ojuku Hill Primary School grounds on Saturday.

The vibrant event drew hundreds of locals and dignitaries from within and beyond Terego District.

Bishop Andaku credited Dramviku’s victory to divine intervention, noting that God had chosen him from among the many candidates who contested the seat.

“I command you to be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, for God has promised to be with you and will fight your battles,” the Bishop said, adding that: “When you go to Kampala, remember the people back home including those who did not vote for you because you are now MP for everybody.

“Treat all people equally and work with everyone. Pray for those who campaigned for you, and if opportunities arise in Parliament such as jobs like sweepers, consider them. But for those who opposed you, even throwing stones, my advice is: do not hate them. Instead, bless and pray for them, and you will attract more blessings.”

He further encouraged Dramviku to prioritize development in Terego District, particularly in education, health, and infrastructure.

As his first task, the Bishop tasked Dramviku with lobbying for improvements to the poor road network in the constituency. He prayed for God to grant Dramviku wisdom and protection.

“My friend, embrace wisdom and protect yourself with it—God will protect you. May wisdom help you discern your enemies so you can live and serve. Know where to stay, socialize, eat, and sleep. May God help and bless you,” Bishop Andaku prayed.

In his response, Dramviku explained that he organized the event to thank God for the miracle of selecting him from among ten candidates to represent Terego West in the 12th Parliament.

“This is not the first time I am offering such prayers; it is my routine. Whenever I embark on any project, I seek prayers. At the start of this journey, the Bishop led a similar prayer, and since God answered so wonderfully, it was only right to return and give thanks,” Dramviku said.

He acknowledged that the path to victory was challenging, given the competition. He used the occasion to forgive those who wronged him during the campaign and to seek forgiveness from anyone he may have wronged.

Dramviku also called for unity, pointing out the diverse attendance including people from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Sudan, Nwoya, and other areas.

“The service we are going to offer is nation-building. By bringing everyone together, we aim to forge meaningful unity that will drive development for Terego West in particular and West Nile as a whole,” he said.

He pledged to advocate for the creation of more administrative units in Terego District to bring government services closer to the people.

The event was also attended by Rose Obigah, the re-elected Terego District Woman MP, and Wilfred Erima Babanga, the Terego East MP-elect.

The MPs pledged to collaborate with Dramviku to secure the development Terego District deserves from the government.
