Muhammad Shaban Leaves KCCA FC For The Second Time
Muhammad Shaban has parted ways with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC for the second time after his contract expired in June 2024. He first joined KCCA FC 2017 from the West Nile-based team Onduparaka FC. He played for the Kasasiro boys for a season and left for Raja Casablanca in Morocco. He later returned to the club in the 2022/2023 season.
Mo Shaban had a remarkable second spell with KCCA FC. Last season, he was the top scorer in the Uganda Premier League with 17 goals.
Negotiations for an extension of his contract failed primarily due to financial disagreement. The club deemed Shaban’s demands for a sign-on fee of UGX 250 million and a monthly salary of UGX 7 million too high, leading to the decision not to renew his contract.
In an open letter to KCCA FC fans, Mo Shaban announced his departure from the former Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions after what he termed as “two unforgettable seasons.”
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from this incredible club after two unforgettable seasons. The memories made, victories celebrated, and bonds formed will forever hold a special place in my heart. I am grateful for the unwavering support, passion, and dedication shown by each and every one of you.”
“As I embark on a new chapter in my career, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to the fans who have stood by me through thick and thin. Your cheers, chants, and unwavering support have motivated me to give my all on the field.”
He then thanked the fans, his former teammates, and club management for every atom of support they gave him throughout his time there.

Mo Shabans’s next move is still unknown. However, his departure allows him to join other clubs, with Tanzanian giants, young Africans, and Kenyan club Gor Mahia expressing interest in signing him. Feel free to express your thoughts on this story using the feedback form below.
