1. Arua One FM 88.7

Since its inception in 2002, the station has established itself as a key player in the city, with its transmitter located on Arua Hill, which provides one of the most powerful radio signals in the West Nile subregion. 

In 2012, Arua One FM became part of the Vision Group, a significant media conglomerate operating in Uganda. This acquisition initiated a series of substantial changes in the station’s management and programming framework. The Vision Group introduced a set of new policies designed to modernize the station, elevate the quality of its content, and broaden its audience base.

By providing content in various languages, the station effectively engages a broad demographic. The inclusion of languages like Lugbara, Madi, Kakwa, Alur/Luo, Swahili, English, French, and Lingala ensures that it can connect with audiences in Arua and extend its reach to adjacent districts such as Nebbi, Yumbe, and Moyo, along with areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.

2. Radio Pacis

Radio Pacis is a prominent community-focused radio station situated in Arua City. Founded by the Catholic Diocese of Arua, the station aims to advance the “Peace of Christ for all.” Its community-focused strategy guarantees that the programming is designed to support the comprehensive growth of its listeners.

Over the years, Radio Pacis has cultivated a loyal audience, thanks to its innovative approach to broadcasting and its dedication to addressing the interests and needs of its listeners.

Unlike other radio stations, in West Nile, Radion Pacis broadcasts on four known frequencies:

• Radio Pacis Arua 90.9 FM,
• Radio Pacis Arua 94.5 FM,
• Radio Pacis Moyo 104.8 FM, and
• Radio Pacis Gulu 101.4 FM.

3. Voice of Life FM 100.9

Established in 1997, Voice of Life FM (100.9) is a Christian radio station located in Arua. The station has developed a significant presence, with a broadcasting range exceeding 200 kilometers. Its strong signal ensures comprehensive coverage across the West Nile region, as well as the Bunyoro and Acholi sub-regions, extending into parts of the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and the southern areas of South Sudan.

4. Paidha FM 87.8

Radio Paidha Ltd, a registered media organization, was established in 1997 and functions under the name Paidha FM. It is located in Paidha town, Zombo district. With a history spanning 23 years, the station has become a significant player in the broadcasting landscape in the West Nile subregion. It utilizes a 2KW transmitter and is strategically located with a mast on Agu Hill, enhancing its signal reach.

5. Nile FM Arua 94.1

Nile FM Arua 94.1 is a well-regarded urban radio station operating in Arua City, serving the West Nile region. The station offers a diverse array of programming, which includes music, news updates, talk shows, and cultural content specifically designed to resonate with the local population.

6. Spirit FM Koboko 104.5

Spirit FM Koboko, operating on the frequency of 104.5 FM, stands out as a prominent radio station within the Koboko district. Access FM, referred to as “Arua City Radio,” is a relatively new, prominent radio station located in Arua City, operating on a frequency of 96.3 FM. It is a product of Access Broadcasting Services and offers a rich mix of programming, including news updates, talk shows, musical entertainment, and comedy segments. Located on Independence Road, the station plays an essential role in the media landscape of the West Nile region.

8. TransNile Broadcasting Service 98.6

Operating within Moyo District, Trans Nile Broadcasting (TNB) serves as a vital radio station within the district. It offers an array of programming that encompasses news, musical selections, and entertainment, thereby enriching the lives of locals. 

The station is likely pivotal in uniting individuals, granting them a voice, and facilitating access to information regarding significant events at both the regional and national levels.

9. Pakwach FM 100.2

Established in 2014, Pakwach FM has created a highly competitive environment in the realm of radio broadcasting within the West Nile region. It has emerged as the premier radio station in the Alur and Pakwach districts. By 2017, it was recognized as the second-most-listened-to radio station across the entire West Nile area.

10. Radio Amani 89.1

11. Rainbow FM 88.2

Rainbow FM is a community radio station based in the Nebbi district and is renowned for its dedication to Alur music. With over 80% of its musical programming centered around this Alur music, it has become a prominent promoter of Alur cultural identity.

Its broadcasts primarily reach audiences within Nebbi and extend to surrounding regions, including parts of Zombo, Pakwach, Nwoya, Bunyoro, Koboko, and even into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
